This completely redesigned system reduces weight and enhances the efficiency of the next generation Rear Drive Module (RDM) which is fully automatic and delivers seamless operation in and out of four-wheel drive at any speed. It ensures vehicle stability and improves response during both understeer and oversteer conditions
The system has been enhanced and includes a two-speed Power Transfer Unit (PTU) with torque management and low range. The 4-Low mode locks the front and rear driveshafts for low-speed power or towing. The Jeep® Active Drive also includes Hill-descent Control, which allows the Cherokee to provide controlled hill descent in rough terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal.
All Cherokee 4×4 systems feature the renowned Jeep® Selec-Terrain traction control system, with four modes (Auto, Snow, Sport and Sand/Mud).
