The 2.2 diesel engine features second-generation MultiJet technology, four valves per cylinder, 2,000-bar Common Rail injection, Engine Start Stop (ESS) and eight-speed automatic trasmission for the best on-road and off-road performances and fuel efficency.

The All-New 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine is available on the Jeep® Wrangler and is equipped with Engine Start Stop and eight-speed automatic trasmission. The system blends performance-enhancing and fuel-saving technologies to optimize powertrain effectiveness and efficiency.

Any off-road enthusiast knows the legendary Rock-Trac® 4×4 System. Standard on the Rubicon, it gives you more control and more torque, offering superior off-road performance. Want even more jaw-dropping capability? The tough-as-nails NV241-Off-Road transfer case with a 4:1 low gear ratio, Tru-Lok® electronic locking front and rear differentials and an electronic front sway bar disconnect are always ready to be tested.
COMMAND-TRAC®
POWER UP
When four-wheel power is required, the Command-Trac® 4×4 System with an NV241 GII transfer case, standard on Sport and Sahara shifts into action to help you get through with ease. Command-Trac is a proven shift-on-the-fly system with a 2.72:1 low range for rock crawling and neutral for available flat towing purposefully built for fun and the freedom to go wherever the adventure leads.
Next generation Dana 44 axles
Standing tall above the rest, the Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with front and rear Dana® 44 axles. The axles are beefed up with thicker tubes and forgings for superior strength, rigidity and durability.
Rock-trac® With Tru-lok®
Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with Tru-Lock® electronic-locking differentials. The instrument panel rocker switch activates either the rear of both axels for ultimate traction.
Active Sway Bar Disconnect
This Rubicon only system lets you automatically disengage the sway bar when driving under 18 mph in 4LO mode. The front wheels can then drop and compress up to 25% further to tackle the most challenging terrain.
